We proclaim that:
1. We believe that all people are dependent on each other, on our planetary wonder, its climate and biodiversity.
2. We believe that our interdependence is a strength; that dialogue and collaborative musical expression can further inter-human connection, understanding, and heighten sensitivity to other ways of knowing and living.
3. We believe that sharing our music, ideas, and knowledge, makes us wiser, when the perspectives of others are invited fully into the songwriting process.
4. We believe that writing songs with others that are not yet songwriters, but who will work collaboratively to share their story in song, can increase awareness of social and environmental justice issues.
5. We believe that songwriting can heighten empathic interconnection by letting listeners engage with songs based on lived experiences.
6. We recognize the content of the SOI Declaration and project description. And we will be supportive of the ongoing writing of new songs with the people of the world, based on their first-hand experiences.
